PURSUING EXCELLENCE
AND DIVERSITY
The Mailman School of Public Health
pushes beyond the traditional boundaries
of public health education to train future
public health leaders, offering students
unparalleled experiences both inside and
outside the classroom. To this end, the
School actively pursues excellence and
diversity in its student body, seeking
individuals with varied backgrounds and
experiences who aspire to be agents of
positive change for improving the health
of communities across the United States
and around the world.
The School's faculty is committed to
curricular excellence in the core areas of
public health, as well as in new and
specialized areas of study. The School
offers over 30 tracks of study in its MPH
and MS programs, eight doctoral programs,
as well as full-time, part-time, and
executive education programs. Among
these programs, admission requirements
vary according to prior academic training,
professional health experience, and career

FUNDING FOR STUDENTS
A large number of Mailman School
students receive tuition assistance. Funding
sources include: institutional grants,
partial tuition scholarships, research and
teaching assistantships, federal loan
programs, school loans, federal workstudy
funds, and the New York State
Tuition Assistance Program. Financial
need scholarships require completion of
the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA) form. For further information
